I never did like the wording of that billboard, but people who promote this sign don’t look at god as an enemy – they look at god as a figment of imagination and would like to see the rest of the world come to the same conclusion.

Will they? No.

I prefer the signs that say millions are good without god, because that’s true. I like the ones that remind people that if they don’t believe they aren’t alone in that sentiment. A lot of people don’t believe and it hasn’t made them all amoral creatures.

The assumption that only god can lead to goodness is erroneous.

This is a terrible article. To compare the Obama admistration to “Brown Shirts” is contemptable. It was the previous adminstration which enacted the “Patriot Act” Has Mr. Sowell spoken against that bill? This is really far off and outrageous. I am all for the freedom to cricticize and disagree with the government but to associate the President of the United States with Brown Shirts is an insult to all of us and a terrible provocation. I have lived in Israel during the same period that extreme right wingers were writing such articles about the Rabin administration. I would have hoped that people would have learned from such tragedies. The polarization and hysterionics of American politics is very unhealthy and ungodly. I hope that this will be the last of such articles in what is usually a beutiful and inspiring “BLOG” What doesn’t sound “American” is Mr. Sowell’s extremist approach to President Obama and his policies to which, he is most free to criticize but please do so intellegently and fairly.
