Dutch Sheets on Sarah Palin

2008 September 6

Please note that this is an old post and not up-to-speed with current events. Dutch Sheets has since issued a statement on his post-election thoughts, and America has moved on from this issue, embracing President Obama as our new leader. Believers around the world are praying diligently that God will give him wisdom and strength for the weight of the burden he now carries.

******************************************

Here is an email forwarded to me by a friend. It is written by a couple who attends Dutch Sheets church in Colorado Springs. After this was originally posted, it was discovered there were a few errors in the facts of the email sent out by this couple. At the end of the letter, you will find a short note to correct those errors issued by Dutch Sheets’ staff in Colorado Springs. You also will find the original correction letter on Dutch Sheet’s website. You can click at the end.

Of course, all prophecy must be tested, and this one is no different. Certainly, though this gives believers much to pray over and ponder concerning the upcoming elections.

Peg and I have just returned from our Sunday AM service. As you know, we have been involved in 90 days of Hosting the Lord’s Presence and it has been powerful…in a personal way. We knew there has been lots of warfare, because when we get home we are tired and need a nap. The Sunday AM celebrations have been just worship, with some intercessory prayer, but no preaching or teaching. This morning after an extended time of worship, Dutch Sheets, our pastor, shared an exhortation, as he called it. During this, Peg and I both were about to explode in our spirits.

I believe you are aware that Dutch was used by the Lord to call prayer before the 2000 Bush election that was so close. He said this morning that this election is perhaps even more critical than 2000, because of the Supreme Court. If the right political posture is not elected, we stand to lose decades of progress and the repurcussions are enormous.

Last year Chuck Pierce and Greg Hood prophesied that in 2008 we are not electing a president, but the vice president. Dutch said he could get no release in his heart to back Huckaby. even though pressured by many in the body of Christ. Huckaby is a good man and a strong believer, but he was not God’s choice at this time.

Dutch also told us that he knows a man who gave McCain a prophetic word, that McCain had made a vow to God when he was at the bottom during his POW days, and now God was calling in that vow. McCain was visibly moved by this word.

Dutch was traveling to Texas on Friday, and when he landed in the airport, his wife called and told him to get to the TV asap. He watched McCain introduce Governor Palin, and said he began to weep, even though he knew nothing about her. (I experienced the very same thing and we have had reports of many others including Newt Gingrich).

He asked what the significance of this 44-year-old woman was, and he saw the clock said 4:44. He asked the Lord what that was, and the Lord said, “Ezekiel 44:4.” “He brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple; so I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD; and I fell on my face. NKJV North gate representing Alaska.

A few years ago Dutch and Chuck Pierce went on a 50-state tour prophesying over the state their part in God’s purposes for the U.S. At the meeting in Texas that evening Dutch was relaying his experience about the Governor to Chuck, who said, “Do you remember what the word was the Lord gave us for Alaska ?” The Lord had shown them that Alaska is the alpha and omega state. It is the place where things begin and end.

You may realize that some of the Alaskan islands are on the other side of the Dateline, meaning that the day begins and ends in Alaska. The Lord said that Alaska is a gateway for the Ancient of Days to come into the nation. The Lord told Dutch (back in Alaska ) to tell the people of Alaska to look forward into their destiny. Alaska has an assignment to open doors and a place where prophets and intercessors were trained. It turns out that the Governor, who was raised in a Pentecostal Church, according to our newspaper, founded the prayer movement in Alaska .

We will be having the last of our 90 days beginning in a major gathering Sept 11th. The significance of this is that Chuck Pierce had prophesied that there would be 7 years of war and Sept 11 marks the end of that time and the entering of the 8th year. Someone said that 44 = 4+4 or 8.

Dutch asked why he and Chuck were in Texas for this announcement, and the Lord reminded him that the word for Texas was that it is a prophetic state – that the Lord’s purpose for Texas is this prophetic function.

Dutch then decreed that she will enter the White House. Now, if you don’t know him, he is cautious, has his feet on the ground, and never goes off “half cocked” when it comes to prophecy. He said that he believes, as of Friday, the U.S. has come into a new level of alignment with the Lord and His purposes. By the way, the Governor will be the 44th Vice President. He continued to declare that she will be the Margaret Thatcher of America, including that she would be President one day. Many other things came forth. I literally thought I would explode because the Lord had shown me many of these same things yesterday.

I believe we especially need to rally prayer for the family and children of the Governor. They will be targeted by the enemy and I believe we need special prayer for the oldest daughter. Please take this seriously in your prayers.

Below is an important correction from Dutch Sheets website.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION FROM DUTCH SHEETS

“There has been an email circulating with quotes from Pastor Dutch regarding Senator McCain and Governor Palin. This was NOT an email sent by Pastor Dutch. Someone took notes during a Sunday service and sent out this email. There are several inaccuracies within its content that warrant this statement.

The comment about Sarah Palin starting the prayer movement in Alaska is incorrect. She did not start the prayer movement, however, she is a woman of prayer. Pastor Dutch did not state that she is Pentecostal; the media has published that.

The comments regarding the vow made by Senator McCain while a POW are not correct. Pastor Dutch was told that someone sent Mr. McCain a letter that was prophetic in nature and asked if he had made promises to God while a POW. It was very personal in nature and his response was not disclosed.

Lastly, the statement about Sarah Palin being the 44th Vice President is wrong. If elected into office, Governor Palin would be in the 44th administration but would be the 47th vice president.”

I happened upon this blog while looking for something else…I’ve never participated in any blog before, but had to on this one.

I have, like countless numbers of people, many thoughts about Sarah Palin’s nomination to be VP, but I will only make a comment regarding the mainstream media’s treatment of her. It has been cruel, vicious, and for the most part, venomous. One can almost hear the cries of “Crucify her! Crucify her!” (Sound familiar?) I believe the reason for this is simple. Sarah Palin carries the anointing of Yahweh, God Almighty, and the ungodly hate that. Darkness despises the light.

It has been asked if Sarah Palin is another Esther. I think she has the opportunity to be greater than Esther. She can, by the anointing, be a key part in the shaping of the history of our country, this world, and the Kingdom of God.

Sarah will be in the parkers prayers. I have been so sad for america, but I believe God has heard our cries, he is not finished with america!

I believe we must bath sarah in prayer. Jesus Christ is not finished with america! praise God from who all blessings flow!

I have been getting the numbers 444 for approx 4 or 5 months from the Lord, I have asked my friends and prayer partners help with my getting this number on digital clocks, licence plates (going to church) phone numbers, etc. Now I know. When I heard Sara’s speech I was convinced, when I heard McCains “testimony” I was moved, I think her pro life example, her professional experience as a Govenor, and now what I know is God’s annointing because God’s Grace is on the USA. Our term is extended with Sara Palin in office! I will be praying for this word to manifest according to HIS will.

A cousin called to turn on the TV as the announcement was being made by Sen. John McCain. I laid hands on the set and cried. I believe God said to me: “She’s your last chance for this nation to rise again”. I believe He was speaking to us as the body of Christ.

We believe that Sarah Palin is going to be used by God to be stuck in the “craw” of the conscience of liberal America, especially when it comes to the abortion issue. Truly 2Chron. 7:14 is coming to pass!….A “suddenly” has burst on the scene and our prayers are vital!

I was over joyed as I read what Dutch Sheets members had to say about Sarah Palin. I am much encouraged about the election now. Absolutely we must keep her and her family covered with prayer as well as Senator McCain. We have been in much prayer already for this critical election. We must keep it up.
I know Dutch Sheets to be a very reliable preacher and intercessor. I am in the prosess of reading and re-reading his book on “Intercessory Prayer”.
Written several years ago. It is the best book on intercessory prayer I have ever read.

Praise God that he is not finished with us yet! I do not usually watch the garbage on TV regarding the election, or anything else for that matter. I find it all to be what the “world” wants us to hear and the Enemy is exhaulted in just about everything you hear. So I did not watch the coverage when McCain made his announcement. I did however see her picture on the front page of Yahoo as I was logging in to check my email. My spirit lept inside me as I noticed the Glow about her. I knew then that this was the one God has chosen to take the helm and take our country into the path that is should have been in all along. God has heard our cries and he will answer our prayers. We need to cover her and her family now with many paryers. THESE THINGS COME THROUGH PRAYER AND FASTING! Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, get on your face and pray and fast for our nation, and for our leaders. You want to see God move, then pull at his heart strings and he will move. I heard someone say recently isn’t it awesome to know that our brother Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father making petition for us. He is the best big brother we could ever have. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Lord! Hallelujah!

I know now that the Lord led me to this blog. I have never read or posted on a blog before. I was searching for a prayer gathering for the election. I told my husband yesterday that I feel called to attend one whereever it may be. I also had an unusual reaction to McCain’s announcement……I did not know her, but wept uncontrollably. I have realized and have been told that I have the gift of prophecy……however, I do not use it in any public way. I also have had many unusual instances of getting numbers but have never been able to interpret them and I don’t really make an effort to try. I just ask the Lord to reveal the meaning in His time. Anyway, I almost fell off of my chair when I read these blogs…….for I have been on my face often in intense prayer for our nation and about this election. I live in Texas but am from the North (actually Ohio, but am refered to as a “northerner” here) and have a “gate” to our property that has had the code “444″ for years.
Folks, there will be much spiritual warfare and it’s going to get ugly……but if we heed the Word of the Lord and by continual prayer and supplication, making our requests known to God, He will raise up a righteous instrument of His will, a woman named Sarah, to do His bidding and bless our nation. McCain has been put through the fire and withstood the crusible; his character has been honed and he has been humbled to be used of God. The Lord has provided a helper and will accomplish His will through them. Satan will rail and he will deceive many. PRAY in truth and spirit. Repent and confess, and be cleansed of all unrighteousness, and then pray in your coming and going throughout each day, and praise the Creator of heaven and earth for his wonderful and tender mercies toward his beloved; those in Christ Jesus. Bless and do not curse, be above reproach in all of your doings, and trust in the Lord, not by power or by might, but by His Spirit. Be warriors my friends, we are called to fight this battle, for our weapons of warfare are not carnal, but might in God for pulling down strongholds, CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS of every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ!

When John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate an excitement and thrill welled up on the inside of me. I believe it was the Holy Spirit shouting confirmation that Sarah Palin is annointed to lead this country into God’s blessing. She is going to raise a standard that has not been seen here before and that will change the destiny of our nation. I believe that George Bush deserves honor and respect for keeping our country safe from terrorism and for being a just and courageous leader but that God is going to use Sarah Palin to bring us to a whole new, higher, level of influence and blessing as a nation. God bless the United States of America and it’s leaders for surely He isn’t finished with us yet.

We too have avoided the news because it is hedious evil speaking for the most part. But we knew we were to watch McCain introduce his choice for VP. There was an urgency about it in our spirit. We both new immediately she is God’s chosen vessel with tears of joy and powerful hope. I SURE would like to know who is being quoted in this posting. I’ve seen it several places around the internet, but it’s alway attributed – like here – to “a couple who attends Dutch Sheets church in Colorado Springs.” Do you know who this actually is, or how to find out? It certainly is very encouraging, but without attribution, it’s not much more than just an internet rumor.

(And the next VP will be number 47, not number 44, if I calculate correctly.)

LarryBoy, why pray? Because God has commanded us in 1Thess.5 to “…be unceasing in prayer..,” and then “…do not spurn the gifts and utterances of prophets do not depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction or exhortation or warning. BUT test and prove all things until you can recognize what is good; to that hold fast.” Just because someone claims to have received a word from the Lord doesn’t mean that it is. That is where the prayer comes in as we ask for clarity to discern what is from Him and what is of the flesh. Also, there is a battle raging in the spiritual realm. Evil has no intention of allowing the Lord to work. Scripture points us to this in Daniel 10 and how the angel was held up from delivering the Lord’s message because he was besieged by the (vs. 13) “the prince of the kingdom of Persia” until Michael the Arch-angel was sent to do battle so that the message could be released. Prayer is the most powerful weapon of offense and defense. Why would we just go to a “whatever will be” attitude when God has invited us to be engaged in what He is doing?

This prophesy–even without the errors–doesn’t ring true. First, church history shows us the pattern of revival, and it’s almost always preceded by prayer and repentance BY THE CHURCH.

It scares me to see believers put so much hope in political leaders–even Christian ones (and I love Sarah).

Folks, we have been in the first stages of judgment for some time. If you want to listen to something that will blow your socks off, go here http://www.beitsimcha.com/s_ser/Messiah05.asp and download this Messianic rabbi’s sermon on Isaiah 9:10. In the days after 9/11, Tom Dashiell and John Edwards both quoted this verse without realizing it speaks of judgment. This is absolutely fascinating. Try to ignore the annoying violin in the background.

Regardless of what we think God is STILL on the throne and will move as He sees fit. We still need to keep Sarah Palin and John McCain in our prayers as the “world” and all of those who are a “part of this world” will do everything they can to rip them and their families apart. There is a reason John McCain survived his POW time and there is a reason Sarah Palin became a servant of the people in Alaska. God has been moving in their lives for a long time and He will continue to move. Our prayers just add a hedge of protection around all of them. It will be interesting to watch the prophesy unfold. I love watching God move out in the open!!! Hallelujah and Praise the Lord!!!! Amen.

I watched Ms. Palin’s speech with a real excitement, and during the first half of it I thought I saw something really different, someone that might really be bringing something new to the political arena. Then she hit the second part of her speech and my spirit just died. She began to repeat things coming from the Republican leaders that I knew were either lies about the other candidate or twisted words, and her mocking, belittling attitude left me reeling. (I receive many e-mails bashing one or the other candidate and always research to find out the truth behind them.) This is nothing new or different. In the beginning I saw a glowing spirit, by the end I was totally deflated. Both sides lie and twist words, both sides mock and belittle, but she came to the arena with the promise of something godly and refreshing, representing God and people of faith, the “change” that was so desperately needed. Because she carries her testimony with her and represents our Lord in front of the nation, she should be held even more accountable to prove to that nation that God in us really does make a difference. Her speech did not show that at all, but only showed that a politician is a politician and she is no different from the rest of them.

If Sarah Palin is anointed or plays a special part in God’s plan, then why is she being so dishonest?

Her account of the “bridge to nowhere” was extremely misleading, yet she told it with a straight face during her speech and McCain later used it in an ad. Also, she claimed to oppose federal earmark (or “pork barrel” spending), but Alaska has the highest federal earmark funds per capita in the country. You can easily verify these facts in any number of sources.

Her tenure as mayor of Wasilla was not exactly a shining example of great leadership. She caused so much discord during her first four months that the city council seriously considered recalling the election. She claims to be financially conservative, but left the town over $20 million in debt. Her biggest Wasilla project — a community sports complex — turned into a legal disaster when the over-confident Palin gave her OK to start construction BEFORE the city actually owned the parcel of land they were building on. If you know the tiniest bit about real estate, you know this is extremely unwise. The town ended up in a legal fight that had cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and is STILL going on.

The so-called Troopergate scandal is also not looking too good for Palin. Check out the local coverage online at the Anchorage Daily News or another Alaska paper to see the story as reported from the beginning, before there was any VP-related spin.

In my opinion, her actions and don’t seem like those of a strong and competent leader, nor do they show integrity and good character.

I strongly encourage everyone to do some research before voting. Check out the facts for yourself and then decide. It’s dangerous to elect the leader of our country based only on an intuition.

I am a resident of Alaska, and am proud of Sarah Palin. I do not find her “dishonest”, but have found that unlike most of the leaders of the state and country, she has morals and works very hard to do right by our state, and would do the same for our country.
She did not say she sent the money back, she said we did not need the “bridge to nowhere”. while she originally thought there was merit to this “bridge”, when she researched it further, she agreed it was not a good idea. Alaska is a very large state, and does have needs, like any other state.
Just because everyone in Wasilla did not agree with the community sports center, does not mean it is wrong. You will never find anyone, in authority, who makes decisions, that has the aggreement of everyone. However, most Alaskans do agree with most of what she does and does find her to be honest, authentic, genuine.
As for “troopergate”, if the inquiry covers all the facts, it will find that Sarah terminated someone that she appointed, who tried repeatedly to go behind her back, and would not follow the orders that was given to him. In truth, his actions were definitely sexist, because he would not have done this to a man, in the same office. He disrepected her as a person, and as someone in authority over him. He deserved to be terminated, and this had nothing to do with Wooten.

I encourage everyone to PRAYFULLY do COMPLETE research, and not to just believe things written in Anchorage Daily News, who is left wing media, and is slanted against Sarah.

I for one will trust what God tells my spirit, instead of what slanted media does tell me.

    larryboy stated:
If the prophecy is true why pray? It’s going to happen anyway, right?

because God’s Will is not automatic. if it were, His will for everyone to be saved would have happened already. we sadly know people who have died and have never accepted the love of God in Christ.

His overall plan for humanity will be done, but for our own individual lives, we need to come in agreement with God and give Him access to intervene. He is not a bully and will not force us. it is the law of Genesis 1:28. God said, Let THEM have dominion. He gave the lease of the earth to the humans (spirit in dirt body), so only a human has authority.

    without God, we cannot.
    without us, God will not.

He has the power, but we have the authority. it’s the way He set it up.

I have always deeply respected Dutch Sheets, but for the first time since I started reading up on him, I will have to say that I completely disagree with his viewpoints of who Sarah Palin is in the grand scheme of things. I am a deep believer that God still speaks to us prophetically in modern times, but what we say needs to be spiritually sound and I find no evidence in scripture that a woman will save the Jews from destruction in the endtimes as Esther played a hand in delivering the Jews from destruction in the Old Testament. The return of Jesus is the only thing that will bring deliverance to Israel this time around. We need to be very cautious in these times of looking to other human beings to be our deliverance and salvation (or Israel’s deliverance and salvation). There are many out there that are determined to destroy the church and God’s chosen people (the Jews), but this time around, it is Christ alone who will receive the glory for delivering us. I am not saying that there aren’t those (such as possibly John McCain and those called to pray prayers of intercession for our nation) that could be called for a time to hold back the floodgates of end time destruction, but it is only Christ who is to be held up as the standard for our salvation this time around.

I accidently found this web page while looking for an intercessory prayer group for Sarah Palin. I was actually at a seminar where Dutch spoke last summer along with others. Dutch said then that Hillery and Guilliani (not sure of spelling) would not be the nominees. I knew then that it would be McCain. I had no idea about Sarah Palin. After McCain officially became the nominee for the Republican party I immediately began to pray about his VP selection. I was leaning toward Huckabee all though I knew it wasn’t going to be him. When Sarah was announced I almost fell off of my couch. I was so excited I couldn’t stand still. I immediately felt a connection in some strange way to her. I was born in Texas and moved to Alaska when I was 25. I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit 6 months later and lived there 9 years. While I lived in AK I had the opportunity to hear Mary Glazer and speak with her a couple of times. AK was my spiritual training ground. Sarah was at that time a council woman, and then the Mayor of Wasilla. I lived just south of Wasilla in the community of Chugiak. So you can imagine how her being chosen ‘Rocked my World’. I have been praying about the 2008 elections for over 2 years now. I am very drawn in the Spirit to politics. I have not gotten any numbers in my spirit as others have but immediately after Sarah was announced I began to hear Deborah. I knew it was in reference to Sarah but wasn’t sure how. I mentioned it to my Women’s Aglow group and finally decided to reread about Deborah. I went in thinking the Lord was calling Sarah, Deborah. I was wrong. I had forgotten the leader Deborah called to lead the battle against the ‘evil king’ was named Barak. Barak said he would do as Deborah asked as long as she went along with him. Deborah agreed but said (paraphrasing), because of your attitude the Lord would give the victory (honor) to a woman. I almost fell over. I had forgotten the man called on by Deborah was named Barak. Wow! What an exciting election year. The Lord is moving! I’m honored to be here on earth during this time.

Sorry for rambeling, I am just so excited!

When Sarah Palin was announced as the V.P. for the Republican ticket my heart was over joyed. Before she was selected or before I actully knew who she was, I had prayed God would send a Godly person into this election and this nation would return to the country our ancestors founded. I pray for the Mc Cain/Palin ticket and for each family member. They suddenly become a target. I pray for their airplanes, while they are in large groups and just for their safety. Let’s all continue to pray for this election and for God’s people to find favor with the American voter. I pray when millions of voters go into those voting booths on Nov. 4th they will realize Mc Cain/Palin is the better choice. God Bless America!!!

Dutch Sheets is a not true prophet of God…He is Third Wave and endorsed Todd Bentley who is not only a liar and adultery but is in hiding. Dutch is also Peter Wagner’s pastor who is a deceiver!

It’s also true that the Third Wave false leaders especially of the Revival Alliance Billy Johnson, Che Ahe,and John Arnott are deceived and demonized.

But it’s also true they are arrogant, proud and unteachable so they deserve the hell they will get along with Todd Bentley for as the sons of Eli found out God is not merciful with those who rob, rape, use and deceive His sheep!

What irks me about the “Third Wave” Revivals is not only their demonic signs and wonders and jerking but the attitudes of their leaders who believe they are better than the laity and can rule over them through the Nicolaitanes Spirit!

When any leader assumes undue control, it is the “deeds” and “doctrine of the Nicolaitanes” which Christ said He hated and “will fight against.” (Rev. 2:6, 15-16) “Nicolaitanes” means conquer the laity. Nico = conquer and laitanes = the laity.

The Great Shepherd of His sheep never authorized such authority to mere men. In fact, Jesus taught: “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” (Matt. 23:11-12) The measure of leadership is in serving others as unto the LORD. The true apostle will be found to have a heart that is broken and bowed before the LORD Almighty and a disposition to serve and not reign over God’s people. In light of what Christ, “the apostle and high priest of our profession,” taught, the next time someone comes around claiming to be an apostle, I think it may be good to say something like; “Well good brother, in that case you are to be the greatest servant among us so grab that broom in the corner and please sweep this dirty floor!” (Heb. 3:1) A man who is not postured to serve God’s people manifests his own desire to wrongly position himself and be served by God’s people which in contrary to Christ’s teaching concerning His leaders (Matt. 20:20-28; Phil. 2:3-5).

When giving instructions to “elders,” the apostle Peter wrote: “Neither as being lords (rulers) over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.” (1 Pet. 5:3) The body of Christ was purchased by His very own blood and is “God’s heritage” and not man’s. Lording it over “God’s heritage” is the work of those men whom Zechariah said reign as “idol shepherds” amidst God’s people.

One of the ways these men gain the positioning to control people is by making the people believe that they are the elite priesthood the LORD speaks through to His Church. Nonsense! Ever notice how they always have a new word? -A fresh word “from God”? Perhaps they have to perpetually conjure up new “words” to keep the circus wheel of their movement and ministries spinning and the money rolling in.

The flippant use among “Apostolic Reformation” leaders of phrases like “God is saying to His Church” is presumptuous at best. These self-appointed leaders pretend to have some special inroad to the LORD and use it to wield a false authority over His people. Of those who would control or be controlled in an undue fashion, the Son of God commanded: “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” (see Rev. 2:6, 15-16)

It seems that sinful men will always invent some new way to elevate themselves above others. This is no exception. Isn’t it interesting that these men who claim the LORD is restoring apostolic leadership just happen to be those “apostles” He is elevating to rule over His people (as they vainly suppose). Quite convenient isn’t it?

The idea that the LORD speaks through some special group of elite leaders is bogus and violates Scripture. The Good Shepherd of the sheep told us “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (Jn.10:27) Any leader that makes it look like he has special access to the LORD should be departed from immediately. The notion that God speaks from the top down is heretical. Jesus said not to be called by titles that elevate one brother above another because He said “one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.” (Matt. 23:8) The LORD Jesus said: “I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.” (Matt. 11:25) From this statement we know that God actually hides His truth from those who are wise in their own eyes and reveals it to those who are humble and broken before Him. Those who elevate self through man-instituted religious hierarchy are doomed to destruction (Matt. 16:18; 23).

I respect Dutch Sheets, but do not agree with his thoughts on Sarah Palin. First, of all women do not need to be in office of any kind. Call me a shovenist if you want. Palin is not for traditional marriage. She said she’s for civil unions. Sin is in in God’s eyes. Abortion and homosexuality are equal sins. I wish the Church would wake up. Sometimes we try to make everything so spiritual! It’s common sense. There is a wonderful,Goldy man running on the Constitution Party named Chuck Baldwin. Why isn’t anyone endorsing him? Why isn’t anyone supporting him? We have to vote the Bible and vote for Godly people. It really saddens me and worries me that such respected leaders are being deceived by all this. All I know to do is pray.

I came to this site by accident looking for the National Day of Prayer. I am from the old school, what that means I am not a computer person. I started reading the comments by so many people concerned about our nation. I know one thing God is in control. Our nation on the most part has turned its back on the Lord. We do have many Godly people that love and serve Him. It is sad to say that we will have to live and die through the times that will come to our nation because of those people who vote for Obama. The U.S.A. is about to elect a man who is not a follower of God’s word. If every Christian went out and voted for Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin on Nov. 4th this nation that was founded on Christian standards might have a chance to survive. I do not see this happening. A Christian can not vote for a person who believes in killing unborn children. One of the sad parts of this election is that there are those who do believe in God’s love and His word but will be put in harms way because of those who do not know God. All we can do is go vote for MaCain and Palin and pray for our nation and the world.

I am a pentecostal Christian but I have concerns that pentecostals can over-spiritualize things and as the correction to the email shows, they can be downright wrong! If you want some insight about what’s going on in the USA, listen to Alex Jones on GCNlive.com or Alan Watt on RBNlive.com. No, they’re not big Christian channels but why do you presume ‘big’ = ‘truth’. I hear ‘big name’ Christian talk hosts covering a lot of irrelevant stuff. And then we have Christians listening to Rush Limbaugh and his lies as if he’s some sort of oracle. Come on Christians, you’d better find out what’s going on in your country and pray like you’ve never prayed before that Alex Jones and his research is wrong!

Once upon a time there were two converts who sold a piece of property. Their names were Ananias and his wife Sapphira. After the sale the husband took most of the proceeds and laid them at the feet of the Apostle Peter. The shocking events which followed are forever recorded in Acts chapter 5.

Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

“And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it. The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him.”

That day both Ananias and his wife Sapphira died in the presence of the Apostle Peter. Their death was the result of their withholding money they had previously promised to give to God.

Let’s not micro-analyze the whys this could have happened. It’s sufficient to simply say that it happened. And once it happened, there were a lot of freaked-out new converts who did pay attention to whether or not they were keeping their commitments to God, that is at least until the initial shock of that event wore off.

But wow, did the early Church ever experience an extraordinary outpouring of miracles and Holy power, as they began to obey God’s commandment to “Go” into the entire world, preaching the pure gospel of Jesus everywhere they went.

The source of their anointing was the promise of the Holy Spirit, but the basis of their power was their obedience to God’s call. Remember, faith without works is dead, James 2:26.

Thankfully, the early Christian didn’t have personal libraries which diluted their knowledge of God, libraries pointing them to the day’s most detailed philosophical explanations of God’s essence. They simply understood that God is real, and that He commanded them into His service. Simple obedience to the simple plan of salvation resulted in an overwhelming outpouring of God’s healing power.

For some reason, Ananias and Sapphira disobeyed God’s priorities by holding back what they had committed to God, and it cost them their lives. I’m sure their families cried out why God, why!

Have you ever wondered why? Why do things happen the way they do? The answer to every question is somewhere hidden under our layers of doctrine and human reasoning.
Perhaps the answer to our personal and national prayers are as simple as keeping the initial commitments to God, Biblical commitments such as defending the fatherless and the widows in their afflictions, and keeping ourselves unspotted from the world.

Have the immense sub-sets of modern theology successfully argued away the simple decree of God to serve Him? Shouldn’t we remain loyal to our original pledge to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind?

Are we now free to withhold some of our original commitments to God because we now view the Bible’s call to service as only guidelines for an underdeveloped culture of desert dwellers?

    No!

God commands us to keep our commitments to Him so that our eyes may be focused and clear. Then we can see exactly what it is that God is calling us into. He’s called us to fully understand that we are His people, His glorious inheritance, and that the very power which raised up Jesus from the dead right now dwells in those who serve Him.

For what the early Church lacked in detailed theology, it made up for in power. It kept first things first. The early Overcomer comprehended the things which mattered like: God made everything, man needs a savior, all who receive Jesus become His sons and daughters, Jesus is coming again, and we are all accountable for our actions.

Apparently, Ananias and Sapphira failed to grasp the magnitude of their accountability to God. With these two in mind, I’ve often wondered to what extent mercy has delayed the final outpouring. Perhaps God, in His mercy, patiently awaits the return of His people’s hearts, knowing the severe ramifications which address unfaithful people who dismissively reject their sacred pledges.

With much power and authority there is much responsibility.

At any rate, when we hold back no longer, God’s Word does promise us that His Glory will fill the earth, and that He will return for His Church, a Church who will rule victoriously over its enemies.

Overcomers will receive the uttermost parts of the earth for a possession, and the kings of the earth will bow their knees to Jesus, who is the King of Kings.

“So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself. That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died.
But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way. Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.” I Corinthians 11:28-32

    All,
How is a prophet defined ? – By seeing if the prophet’s word comes true. What happened to this purported prophet – Dutch Sheets’ word as was transcribed by a member of his congregation did not come true.

Does that mean God is a liar ?
No, it means Dutch Sheets is a liar. Sorry to be so forceful, but I am sad that God’s name is taken in vain. God, please help us to be faithful to You alone

When Jesus told Peter of the crucifixion, Peter said, “Not so Lord.” Then Jesus turned to Peter and rebuked the devil by saying, get behind me satan, for you savor not the things of God but the things of man.

Peter had just accurately seen in the Spirit that Jesus was the Son of God, and that revelation was commended by the Lord Himself.

The problem with Peter, who was learning to listen to the Spirit a moment earlier, is that he loved this world and the things in this world more than the things of God. Peter could not grasp why Jesus would call forth His own crucifixion.

Jesus did call forth Judas by saying, that which you do, do quickly.

I heard many of my own friends, who are Godly and love godly things, say McCain would win. They love the things of this world and cannot understand that sometimes, prayer warriors will listen to the Spirit and call Judas forward into the world that God’s people may be refined.

It’s not that they are liars as much as they love the things of this world too much.

Of course, there are liars too, those who deceive on purpose. God knows them and will deal with them also.

I think that our brother was possibly like Peter when He in hope framed Palin as the 47th VP of America, not seeing the bigger picture as it has now unfolded. Accurate prophets will speak both savory and unsavory words, even if it goes against their own will in the matter.

Does God do anything without first showing His servants the prophets? Then His prophets will even understand the timeline for anti-christ himself and will call him forward in due time, as Jesus did Judas.

But only those who yearn to be clothed upon with immortality are qualified for such prayer duties.

    Wayne.

Churches need to stop prophesying. When will the church become accountable, when what they said God said ,does not come true. The church also missed an opportunity to come forward and show love when people were shouting “Kill him” and “bomb him.” at the Mccain/Palin rallies. No, the church said nothing and even participated. God loves Obama too. So now Obama is president and we know nothing happens unless God allows it. And he now says to respect those in authority and to pray for them. (Roman 13:1 – 7. A man who said himself he is not perfect. And a man such as Mccain was not perfect either and people were saying that adultery was small potatoes compared to abortion. Last time I looked at my bible both were in the top ten. No sin less evil than the other, but there are even pastors who are divorced so they don’t want to go there. So if you are so opposed to abortion don’t rely on the goverment to solve it. Get out your bed on a Saturday morning eventhough you have worked 5 days a week and go rain or shine to a abortion clinic to pray and maybe change the mind of a young lady to not go and get a abortion and maybe even get saved.
