A Thousand Pieces
A Thousand Pieces
a thousand pieces create
the old story: ancient mosaics
crafted into messianic art by the thick and
rough hands of holy men whose
ideals drove them to generous sacrifice.
I feel the heat of their passion
for righteousness and eternal purpose
rising from these cold, antiquated
tiles. Their prayers illuminate my path,
torch my heart. I live their dreams.
The seeds of their desires are planted
in my womb and scattered across the
nations. Bloody soaked redemption sprung
up in hard and dry places, watered by
the tears of the saints, and
alive with the breath of God.
